ESSAY PRIZE WON
WAIKATO HOSPITAL NURSE PRESENTATION OF TROPHY (By Telegraph—Press Association) DUNEDIN, Wednesday The first business of the annual conference of the New Zealand Registered Nurses’ Association this morning was the presentation of the nursing education committee's essay prize, just inaugurated, which takes the form of a silver replica of Florence Nightingale's lamp mounted on a base of New Zealand teak. The competition is open to all pupil nurses and was won by Nurse Mary Sheehan, of the Waikato Hospital. The training school at the Waikato Hospital will be the first holders of the trophy, which is to be competed for each year. Nurse Sheehan, who has been training at the Waikato Hospital for two years, will also receive ■a personal trophy.
