BEVERLEY’S SUCCESS (Bv Tele«rrapr».—Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Sunday The Manawatu lawn tennis championships were concluded during the week-end, the finals resulting: Men’s Singles.—W. T. Pountnev, Auckland, beat M. Perkins, Wellington, 6—o, 7 —5. Women’s Singles.—Miss N. Beverley, Matamata, beat Miss B. Potter, Waiuku, 6 —i, 7—5. HAWKE’S BAY TOURNEY MEN’S SINGLES TO SMITH (By Telegraph—Press Association) HASTINGS, Sunday The Hawke’s Bay provincial lawn tennis championships were finalised at Waipukurau yesterday, when most of the titles were lifted by visiting players. The winners were:— Men’s Singles.—N. Smith, Wellington. Women’s Singles.—Miss M. Macfarlane Auckland. Men’s Doubles. —N. Smith and Plummer, Hawke's Bay. Women's Doubles.—Miss Glenny, Hawke’s Bay, and Miss Macfarlane. Combined Doubles. —J. N. Lowry, Hawke's Bay, and Miss Macfarlane.
