Gafencu, in a radio address. lie admitted that King Carol was actually directing the Foreign policy, and said that Rumania would fulfil her peaceful obligations to her neighbours on the basis of absolute independence and territorial unassailability. He pointed out that King Carol’s visit to London and other cities was evidence of a desire to make the closest contact with the Western Powers. He also declared loyalty to the Polish alliance, and desired continued friendship with Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia Hungary and Russia.
