CONCLUDING DAY FIRST TO BIG KAURI UENUKU’S TRACK RECORD OUR WAR IN PRESIDENT’S (Special from “Padlock.”) AUCKLAND, Saturday The summer meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club was concluded at Alexandra Park, Epsom, to-day in fine weather and before a large holiday attendance. Tbe majority of the Held made mistakes at various stages and as they were going out of the straight, Aurumar broke for the second time, to interfere with and stop Decoy Bird and Autumn Lou, both of whom were pulled up. Llanvabon was going well in the lead when he broke and lost his position and Moira Bingen* was in second place In the straight when she went up in the air and out of the contest. The second horse, Win Huon, who was paying in the vicinity of £4OO to win, returned his supporters a place price of over two score.

Big Kauri was clear across the top and led into the straight with a big break on Moira Bingen and Canadian, who were on terms. However, both Moira Bingen and Canadian broke soon after and Big Kauri carried on to win by four lengths from Win Huon, who beat Reception by a head. Kete Kura hit the liront at the outset and remained there lo withstand the challenge of Gentleman Joe who, arier being checked at the start and losing ground, was unlucky not to win under the circumstances.

Silk Lady skipped at the start and Sequoia broke interfering with Contender who checked Gentleman Joe. Kete Kura led into the stiaig-ht from sequoia. Wall Street, Silk Lady and Stargum. Uenuku, whose two fine seconds earlier in the meeting, to Van Derby, drew attention to his claims, was responsible for a brilliant exhibition, hitting the front practically from the outset and carrying the field along at a torrid clip to set new figures for the track. He and Precious Metal had the race to themselves throughout. The third horse. Musketeer, paid double figures Tor a place, Uenuku broke slightly at the start but soon settled down and Precious Metal led early Troni Red Frontier, Uenuku. Bismuth and Yanora.
