RAILWAY OFFICER RETIRES
40 YEARS IN DEPARTMENT LONG TERM IN HAMILTON After 40 years’ service in the Railway Department, Mr F. C. G. Huse. senior audit inspector for the North Island, stationed at Hamilton, retires to-morrow. Recently Mr Huse was presented with a fountain-pen and pencil by the chief accountant at Wellington, Mr W. Bishop, In recognition of his long term with the department. Mr Huse Joined t£e service in 1898 as a cadet at Waitara and was later stationed at Eltham, Foxton, Longburn and Wanganui. In 1910 he was appointed stationmaster at Waiouru and in 1912 was moved to Waitotara. In 1915 he was transferred to Waitara, where he remained until 1923 when he Joined the staff of the Palmerston North station. Two years later Mr Huse was appointed traffic inspector for the Wanganui district with headquarters at Wanganui, and in 1929 he came to Hamilton, where he was made audit inspector. In 1932 he was promoted to senior audit inspector for the North Island.
