STATE ROAD SERVICES RATES OF PAY GAZETTED \n Order-in-Council prescribing: the rates of pay for of the i".id services branch of the Railways Department is published in Ihe latest, Gazelle. Fur leading bus drivers and leading service car drivers a rate 5s a week in excess of the ordinary rate "f wages provided in the New Zealand passenger transport drivers' award is provided, hut for other bus drivers, other service car drivers, garage attendants and garage assistants the rates of pay follow those prescribed by appropriate Arbitration Court awards. Other wages prescribed are:—Leading tradesmen, a minimum of 2s an hour and a maximum of 3s CUd an hour: first-class tradesmen with not less than two years' experience as journeymen. 2s 8d an hour: with not less than one year’s experience, 2s 7id an hour; with less than one year's experience, 2s Old an hour. Apprentices are to be paid as follows:—Fifth year. Is s|d an hour; fourth year, Is 2DI: third year. Is Ofd; second year, ltd. first year. Yulcanisers are to receive 2s 6UI an hour; labourers with not less than three years’ adult service. 2s 3id an tiour: and labourers in the first three years of adult service, 2s 2id an hour.
