OBITUARY
MR JOHN DUCK The death has occurred at Rotokauri of Mr John Duck, aged 78 years. The late Mr Duck was born at Whitby, Yorkshire, in 1860 and shortly after his marriage went to Canada, later returning to England. In 1907 lie came to New Zealand, farming at Te Kowhai for a number of years. After serving in the Great War from 1916 onwards he took up land at Orini. He retired from farming about eight years ago and went to live at Rotokauri. He is survived by three sons and two daughters. MR JOSEPH FORD (Special to Times) TE AWAMUTU, Thursday The death has occured of Mr Joseph Ford, a well-known resident of Te Awamutu. The late Mr Ford was born in Scotland over 70 years ago. He served with the British Army in Egypt and after some years in Queensland came to New Zealand, settling at Cromwell and later at Dunedin. ! On the outbreak of the Great War, the late Mr Ford entered the Home Service and after the Armistice, settled in Taranaki. In 1920 he came to Te Awamutu and except for a brief period, when he opened a store at Arapuni, he had lived in the district ever since.
The late Mr Ford is survived by two sons and one daughter.
