VALUEB OF SECURITIES BIG SHRINKAGE THIS YEAR (United Pr*ss Assn.—Elec. T*i Convrtght) (Received Dec. 28. 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, jDec. 27 The persistent fall in security values, which was a feature of the Stock Exchange throughout the year, is illustrated in the Bankers’ Magazine, which quotes the aggregate value of 365 representative securities at December 15 as £6,234,000.000, which is £489,181,000, equal to 7.3 per cent below the value on December 15, 1937 following a £622,000.000 (equal to 8.9 per cent) shrinkage in the values of the same securities during 1937. This two years’ depreciation of £1.151,000,000 is equal to 16 per cent.
