WEDDING

MCDONALD—LEVESQUE CLASSICAL SATIN GOWN A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, Cambridge, on the afternoon of December 21 when Freda Mary, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs John W. Levesque, of “Gracemere,'’ Thornton Road. Cambridge, was married to Leslie Hunter, eldest son of Mr and Mrs L. G. McDonald. of “Glendonald,” Ngaroma. Officiating at the ceremony was the Rev. H. W. Hitchcock, and Miss Rita Price played the wedding music. The church had been beautifully decorated with pink and mauve flowers, a lovely floral bell being suspended from an arch of - greenery.

The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gown of ivory slipper satin cut on classical lines. The bodice was becomingly shirred and fashioned with a heart-shaped neckline and long tight-fitting sleeves, while the back was finished with a row’ of tiny satin buttons from neckline to waist. The slim-fitting skirt fell in panels to form a graceful train, sprigs of orange blossom being clustered at the base of each panel. Her embroidered tulle veil was held to the head by a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of white gladioli and Christmas lilies with trails of Argentine pea. The Attendants She was attended by Miss Pat Levesque, sister of the bride, and Miss Mamie Scott, as bridesmaids. They were frocked alike in gowns of spring green and silver streamer cloque, fashioned on lines similar to the bridal gown, with green and silver flowers adorning the bodice and a wide silver sash defining the w’aistline. They wore haloes of green and silver flowers and carried shower bouquets, the* one of pink and the other of mauve flowers, : with silver trails. j Mr Jack Lawry, of Korakofiui, car- : ried out the duties of best man, and j Mr Randall Wadham, of Pukeatua, I was the groomsman. Ushers at the church were Messrs Eric Levesque and Donald McDonald. • After the ceremony, a reception was held at ‘'Gracemere,'’ the home of the bride's parents, where artistic decor- . ations were arranged in pink and mauve ‘ sweet-peas and green and silver ef- • fects. A novel feature of the decorations on the tables were silver ships with green sails bearing the placenames of the guests. Mrs J. W. Levesque, wearing a navy flowered sheer

ensemble with toning straw hat, received the guests. She carried a posy of pink carnations. Assisting Mrs Levesque was Mrs L. G. McDonald, who wore a beech brown costume with matching hat and carried a posy of pink carnations and roses. When Mr and Mrs L. H. McDonald left for the wedding trip, the bride travelled in a suit of air-force blue, a clover blouse and navy hat trimmed with clover flowers. They will make their home at Ngaroma.
