MAORI IN COURT "SUDDENLY BECAME MAD" EXCITEMENT AT STATION (By Teleg-rapn.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Thursday A Maori, Patrick Tait (26), who caused some excitement at the railway station last evening, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day to charges of and using obscene language. | “Ho was drunk and apparently sudi denly became mad.” said Sub-Inspector Fox. “He ran along the station and ! frightened a crowd of peo-ple and then ; into a bookstall and frightened a young woman and her assistants. The police were called and found Tait being held down by two porters. He gave trouble until lodged in a padded cell. He has never been in trouble before and seems a decent chap when sober.” Mr G. R- Walker, SM.. fined Tait 10s for drunkenness and convicted him on the other charge and ordered him to come up for sentence if called within six months. He was also prohibited.
