The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, will visit Whakatane to-day. where he will open the Bay of Plenty Winter Show. After the ceremony the Minister will return to the Waikato and will address a meeting at Taupiri this evening. Mr G. R. Wilkinson, of Hamilton, left this morning by plane for Dunedin. Mr A. E. Western, of New Plymouth, is visiting Hamilton. M Mr W. J. King left for Wellington last evening. Father F. Walls, of Hamilton, was a caller at New Zealand House, London, recently. Mr O. M. Hope, of Hamilton, was a recent caller at New Zealand House in London. Mr J. Hamilton, of Te Aroha, and Mr F. M. G.ardner, of Cambridge, were among the callers at New Zealand House, London, last month. Messrs A. Mortimer (Auckland). E. A. Best (Eltham), F. 1. Jones (Wanganui), N. Mackie (Palmerston North) and Dr. H. D. Robertson (Wanganui) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Lieutenant-Colonel R. W. Fenton, Royal New Zealand Artillery, Wellington, has been awarded the efficiency decoration for 20 years’ commissioned service in the territorial forces. Mr W. L. Ranstead, secretary of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association, left for Palmerston North last evening to attend the conference of Agricultural and Pastoral Association secretaries. Advice of his appointment as Consul from Brazil has been received by Mr C. A. L. Treadwell, of Wellington. Mr Treadwell, who was appointed vice-consul in 1932, succeeds the late Mr G. Robertson.
