Mean Temperature, 49 deg. The barometer reads 29.00 and has a rising tendency. Unsettled weather is indicated to-day and probably to-mor-row, with lower temperature, heavy rain and westerly winds prevailing. The Rainfall Rainfall for 2 4 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning. .36in. Rainfall for previous 48 hours, 1.04 in. Rainfall for June to date, t.351n. Average rainfall for June, 5.191 n. nainfall for year to date. ?3 261 n. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecart by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley t* as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong but decreasing southerly wind. Weather cold and changeable with passing showers but improving. Seas moderate on the East Coast, rough on the West. General Situation: Pressure Is still rather low to the east and especially near the East Cape, but It Is high In the south and rising rapidly over the Dominion generally with the advance of an Intense anti-cyclone' from the Tasman Sea. Over eastern Australia pressure is falling slightly.
