WARTIME MEMORIES
REUNION IN HAMILTON TWENTIETH REINFORCEMENTS Memories of wartime were revived on Saturday evening when a reunion of the E. Company of the 20th Reinforcements was held in Hamilton. There was a strong muster of exservicemen from all parts of the North Island. The first part of the function was a dinner In the Centreway Rooms, where about 40 members of the company took part. Mr' J. R. Fow, who had farewelled all the reinforcements from Hamilton, was the guest of honour and Major Short, of Auckland, who was in command of the company during the war, was the chairman. After the dinner a social evening was held in Toorak Chambers where old acquaintances were renewed. The toast list was as follows: The King, proposed by Major Short; The Company, Mr Fow, reply by Colonel A. D. Jack (Auckland); Absent Comrades. Mr F. Mitchell, reply by Mr T. Kingston; other companies of the reinforcement, Mr G. Reid: Departed Comrades, Mr W. Sanderson. It was decided to make a donation to the secretary, Mr W. Sanderson, who is ‘an inmate of the Evelyn Firth Home, for his work in organising the reunion.
