PROGRESS OF GAME HAMILTON ASSOCIATION A review of the progress of the game of table tennis in "Hamilton ts given In the annual report of the Hamilton Table Tennis Association presented at the annual meeting of the association last evening. During the season four teams had entered fo r the \ grade competition, stated the report, while a similar number had entered for the R grade, and three teams had taken pari in the Jadies’ competition. There had hern a decrease of five men's learns and three ladies' teams, huf the standard of the game had bepn well maintained throughout Hie season. The 1937 season had been altogether very successful, but. some clubs at times did not co-operate in Ihe matter of the prompt return of score sheets. The total individual membership affiliated with the association last season had been 00 men and 2 I ladies, a decrease of 09 men and 30 ladies. Two representative matches had been played during Hie season against Kihi Kihi. the Hamilton team being successful on both occasions. There had been an entry of 15 players for the men's singles championships at the end of the season. 11 for the ladies’ championships, six entries for the men's doubles championship, six entries for the ladies’ doubles championship. and 10 entries for the combines championship. The championships were played in the room’s of the Herd Testers' Club and some excellent games had been witnessed. Annual Championships The men's singles championship had been won by K. Feisst. of Puke tain, the doubles by F. Overhue and D. Mayer, the ladies’ singles by Miss M. Hayes, the Indies' doubles by Misses M. dimming and M. llaycs. and the combines by H. Conn and Miss J. Adams. The report concludes by expressing the association's I hanks lo Hie president. Mr Feisst. sen., the vice-presi-dent. Mr S. Davis, and to Mr A. Craig, who granted permission for meetings to be held at the Fire Brigade Station. Following were the officers appointed last evening:—President, Mr K. Murphy: vice-presidents. Messrs 11. Feisst an<l G. Wrigley: secretary, Mr C. Linder: treasurer, Mr S. Davis. The committee will ho later appointed from delegates from the various clubs.
