HAMILTON CLUB ONE-DAY TOURNAMENT WIN FOR EVANS’ RINK The Hamilton Bowling Club's oneday tournament on Saturday was a great success with 32 teams from all parts of the South Auckland area competing. The greens were in perfect order and an isolated light shower did not interfere with the game. The Hamilton rink comprising Davis, Pile, Swain and Evans s) won the tournament with five wins and five other teams, skipped by Robinson, Oualtrough, Shirley, Chapman and Rosenfeldt only had one loss. WHITIORA CLUB FOUR-GAME TOURNEY A club tournament of four games of three-quarters of an hour each was played on the Whitiora green on Saturday, the winning team being: Cooper, Grvlls, W. A. Smith, Braddock, with four wins. PLAY AT CLAUDELANDS .. CHALLENGE RINKS FINAL A full programme of games was decided on the Claudelands Bowling Club's green on Saturday In fine weather. A visit was received from two Hamilton East teams and a Matthews Ferns match was also played. However, the most interesting fixture on the day was the final stages of the Waikato Challenge Rinks competition. Ordinary draw games were also decided. The results of the Challenge Rinks games were as follows:—Semi-final. Taupiri Pierce, A. Waring, Murphy, W. Waring) 19 v. Hamilton (Totman. Boyes, Curteis, Coombes) 17. Final: Frankton Whineray, Rockell, Cooney. Bond) 2 4 v. Taupiri 19. This is the second time in succession that Frankton have won the trophy, and on each occasion the rink has been skipped by Rond.
