Copyrft WASHINGGTON, April 2 j The President of Mexico, General Cardenas, in a Note, has assured the United States that his Government will i honour its obligations of to-day and | yestesday. The Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, expresses confidence that a rapid, satisfactory and equitable solution of the oil expropriation problem can he found. The New York Times says it understands that President Roosevelt does not contemglate pressing for payment on the basis of present valuations where the properties were originally purchased at bargain rates. 6ays a telegram from New York. It is suggested that arbitration to determine the value of properties may be contemplated. Mr F. W. Rickett. English financial agent, is reported lo have secured a skeleton contract from General Cardenas for the purcha** m oil.
