Butler, replied that the British Ambassador at Rio de Janeiro had been in constant touch not only with representatives of the council of foreign bondholders, but with the Brazilian authorities. So far it had not proved possible to obtain from the Brazilian Government a statement as to its intentions, but the House rest assured that the British «..vermiient would n<>t relax its efforts to obtain a satisfactory solution of the question.
