GARDEN PARTY
KIHIKIHI PRESBYTERIAN CHUROH Favoured with glorious weather a successful garden party was held at Mr and Mrs L. C. Eyre’s beautiful
residence recently in aid of the car replacement fund of the Presbyterian Church. Over 130 residents and visitors spent an enjoyable afternoon playing games and competitions. Mrs 11. Kay and Mrs J. G. Anderson conducted a jumble stall, which . met with a keen demand, and the j Rible Class girls were in charge of - a sweet stall. ’ Competitions were held during the ’ afternoon and resulted as follows: j Flowers: specimen bloom, Mrs H. Wyllie, Tokanui (waterlily) 1; best f dahlias: Mrs J. S. Pattison and Mr G. McGhie, equal, 1. The bobs golf was ! xvon by A. S. Wyllie. In the clock croquet competition, Mrs Alan Kay was first, the dart throwing being won by Mr L. Eyre. -Other competitions were won by Mr . G. McGhie, and Mrs Lehndorf. A delicious afternoon tea was served ' by the ladies. . The financial result was very gratifyt over £2B being raised.
