MOTOR IMPORTS
DOMINION RECORD OVER 36,000 ENTER Last year 36.761 motor vehicles were imported into New Zealand—an Increase of 6496 over the returns for the previous year and a record. These figures were made available by the Controller of Customs. Dutiable value of the 36,761 motor vehicles imported into the Dominion last year was £5,786,383, which is £1,239,178 more than the value of imports in the previous year when the record 192 9 figures were broken with a total of £4,547.205. In 1929, the dutiable value of motor imports was assessed at over £4,278,000. The figures quoted represent current, domestic values iri the countries of export, plus 10 per cent., expressed in terms of New Zealand currency.
