Feb. 11 The concluding swimming events connected with the Empire Games were staged at the Olympic Pool tonight. New Zealand competed only in the medley relay. Time, 19m 40.45, a Games and Australian record. Seven started. Wainwright, Leivers and Pirie were together in that order for 220 yards, the time being 2m 20?. When the 440 yard? mark was passed Leivers had gone to the front and had established a comfortable lead from Wainwright and Pirie who were together. His time and that of Pirie. 19m 59.25, were both below the Games record of 20m 3s, established by Leivers during the heats.

Copj right SYDNEY, Feb. 11 The Empire Games teams will sail for home next week. The teams from Britain, Ceylon and India will leave by the Stratheden.

The New Zealand and Rhodesian teams will sail by the Awatea and the Themistocles respectively next, Friday, while those from Canada, Bermuda and British Guiana will leave by the Niagara next Thursday.

LIFE-SAVING CARNIVAL N.Z. TEAM IN SYDNEY United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright SYDNEY, Feb. 11 The New Zealand team of 10 surf life-savers to compete at a special carnival to be held from February 19 to February 26 arrived by the Awatea and were welcomed by officials of the Surf-Life-Saving Association.
