Mr C. A. Boles, Mayor of Taumarunui, visited Hamilton to-day. Mr A. H. Laybourn has been appointed registrar of marriages, births and deaths at Te Awamutu. Mr John Farrell, representing J. C. Williamson Ltd., is in Hamilton completing arrangements for the appearance of Miss Fay Compton and her Company. Mr G. D. The condition of Mr George Mills, chairman of the Auckland division of the National Party, who was injured in a motor accident in North Auckland on Wednesday, is somewhat improved, but still regarded as serious according to a report from the Whangarei Hospital. Dr. Hugh Dalton, Labour M.P. for Bishop Auckland, Durham, and chairman of the British Labour Party in 1930-37, and Sir Howard D’Egville, organiser-secretary of the Empire Parliamentary Association, will arrive at Auckland by tlie Awatea on Monday to meet Cabinet ministers and members of the association in the' Dominion. Messrs J. Be'njes (Christchurch), C. Ditchings (Gisborne), 11. Donald Tolaga Bay), H. Fraser, M. Fraser, G. Macullum, C. M. Maculluin (New Plymouth), B. Marsaek (Palmerston North), E. Marfette Kaikohe), L. Schmidt, J. Houston (Wellington), W. S. Paterson, J. H. M. Carpenter (Auckland) and W. E. Penno (Rotorua) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr E. A. Callanan, who has been chairman and managing director of the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited, since October, 1934, and is visiting New York, has indicated his desire to remain in the United State's. Mr Hugh Hamilton has been appointed chairman of directors, and Mr J. C. Blair, deputy chairman, and Mr K. C. Gamble, who was for many years resident in Australia, has been appointed managing director.
