Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton left Auckland for Wellington last night, to! make final arrangements for a tour of j the Dominion by a party of English' public school boys next month. Lord Tennyson, according to a mes- 1 sage from Madras, has announced his retirement from flrst-class cricket after the fifth test against India, which is to commence on Saturday. Mr R. Coulter, M.P. for Waikato, left last evening for Wellington to attend the Government caucus. Messrs H. W. Piper (Wellington), G. Fraser (New Plymouth), W. Bredow (Stratford) and G. E. McGehan (Auckland) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Messrs D. H. Oldfield and F. N. Stace of Hamilton, have been notified that they have passed the 15 days' drawing examination for the Bachelor of Engineering degree. Sympathy with the chairman, Mr J. J. Ryburn, and his family, in the recent death of his oldest son, Mr J. B. Ryburn, was expressed by members of the Waikato Hospitp.l Board at its meeting to-day, members standing in silence.
