EVENING MEETING The attendance at Kerries Park on Wednesday evening was large and representative. while the number of competitors was the largest registered this season. The cycle handicap events were very keenly fought out. and tha placed men were loudly applauded. Results:— Boys’ Half Mile Race.—K. Grattan 1, Cross 2, Reader 3; time 1.18. One Mile Open Cvcle Handicap.—* Nicholson (Te Aroha). 170yds, 1} Ward (Auckland), scr. 2; "Parker (Taranaki), scr. 3. Twelve starters. Won by half a wheel. Time 2.19 3-5. Boys' One Mile Cycle Race.—Reader 1, Grattan 2. Kiely 3. Time 2.36. Two Miles Open Cycle Handicap.—, Parker (Taranaki . scr. 1: Harcourl (Hamilton), scr. 2; Kincalde (New Plymouth), 75yds, 3. Fourteen starters, A close finish. Time 5.1 1-5. Youths' Cycle Race. 11 miles.—, Kiely 1. Cross 2, Grattan 3. Tlmd 4.9 1-5. Three Miles Open Cycle Handicap, —Parker (scr) 1, Ward (scr) 2, Harcourt (scr) 3. Fourteen competed. The placed riders finished nearlv itj line. Time 7.28 1-5.
