JUDGING OF CALVES
SOHOOL FIELD DAY RESULTS AT RAGLAN The judging of the calves in connection with the Raglan School Agricultural Club toojt place at the school, when the members spent an interesting and Instructive day. After being paraded and judged, the calves were photographed alongside their owners. The judge, Mr J. W. Connell, then demonstrated the fine points of a dairy cow, a'jersey oow having been brought for the purpose by Arthur Middlemiss. A cow-judg-ing competition provided a most worth-while feature of the day. The president of the Raglan group, Mr W. A. Moore, spoke appreciatively of the fine type of calf presented by the pupils tilts year, and of the valuable work being done by such clubs in stimulating a live interest in farming throughout the country. He also thanked Mr Connell for acting as judge and demonstrator. Results: Dairy type, light breed: Violet Law 1, jack Dando 2, Neil Dando 3. Heavy breed: Macadam Donn 1.
