Bi'yant, Harewood, with 148, was The runner-up. The junior title was won by R. W. Orr, Ashburton, with 159. E. Brophy and R. G. Ross, both of Ashburton, were the runners-up, 1*64. MANAWATU CHAMPIONSHIP (By Telegraph.—Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday j The Manawatu golf championship was won by B. M. Silk, who defeated K. G. Glendinning (Manawatu) In an j exciting final. Silk had beaten H. G. Davies (Napier) and Glendinning beat :N. 11. Anion (Rangitikei) in the semifinals. The Manawatu Plate was won by J. P. Hornabrook, who beat F. W. Huggins (Nelson) at the 20th. TITIRANGI CUP TAPPENDEN BEATS PEART (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday The Titirangi Golf Club’s Labour Day week-end tournament was concluded yesterday. In the semi-finals for the Titirangi Cup, J. N. Peart beat C. G. Fisher, 2 and 1, and R. G. Tappenden beat G. L. Hewson, 7 and 6. Tappenden beat Peart in the final, 2 and il. Playing in the morning medal handicap yesterday in the Maungakiekie Golf Club’s Labour Day tourney J. E. Stedtnan created a record for the course since alterations have been made with a round of 71. NORTH OTAGO TITLE (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OAMARU, Tuesday The North Otago goif tournament was completed yesterday. The championship went to J. Mackay (Timaru) with 77 and 74, an aggregate of 151 and the runner-up was A. Gibbs (Otago) with 153.
