SINKING FUND'S BUBY TERM. STARTS ON 29 OCCASIONS. TEAM WINS £2,642. I Sinking Fund is on the easy list at present and the “Iron-Horse” of Te Rapa has well earned his let-up. During the .1936-37 season he -started no less than 29 times and thrived on exaoting programme. He won two events and finished in minor places on seven occasions for a total of £B2O. One of liis best performances was his narrow defeat in the Herries Memorial Cup at Te Aroha, Master Brierly fin-* isliing through in the last few strides to catch the Tutchen representative right on the post. In all J. F. Tutohen’s nine representatives collected £2,642 in stake money. Adaleno again proved a re-
nuineratlve proposition in the stable 'upkeep, the Little England mare winning £635 for her sole success and three minor placings. Sand-Drift raced consistently for her £3BO winning three of her twelve contests. Philemup was twice successful and in addition dead-healed for first. He won £277 10s, Curlew won £IBO, Gloucester £l3O. Tavern Song £95, Bronzetle £95 and Lilbert £3O.
Filly Inoorrectly Named. The Acre—Gamboling filly in J. F. Tutchen’s stable, which appears in the entry for the Sylvia Park Handicap, as Frisk Acre, should he Frisk Land. Progeny of Pink Coat. Pink Coat, a brilliant racehorse, whose career on the track was cut short through unsoundness, is represented at Riccarton by three youngsters, all the property of their breeder, Mr D. Grant (says the Christchurch “Star-Sun"). They are in Hie stable of D. E. Cotton, who will take them along quietly with a view to racing laic in tlie coming season. A full-sister lo Kinnoull, a chestnut, wllh a lighter mane and tall, immediately lakes the eye. She is the same colour as her sire, and if she possesses anything like, liis racing qualities will he goood. Her dam, Lady Links, was bred by the linn. .T. D. Ormond in 191 i, being by King Mark from Links, a SI. Andrew mare. A black filly is from Ihe Australian-bred mare Denise, who is by Cislcrcian (imp.) from Symmelria. Like her stablematcs, she is well grown and looks like developing into a sprinter. Also the progeny of an Auslraliaii-bred dam is a grey coll from Donella, who favours liis dam in colour. Donella was the res iit I of Ihe mating of imporled Olirysnhius willi Lady Trehia, a Sir High lon mare. This cull.
