WHITE KID GLOVES.

HOW TO CLEAN THEM. White kid gloves may be cleaned *>y rubbing with cream of tartar, or with a piece of flannel dipped in petrol or benzine. If the gloves are coloured, they should be rubbed with a flannel dipped in milk and soaped. The flannel should be rinsed frequently, and when the gloves are clean they should be pulled into shape and left to dry on a clean towel. They need not be rinsed. Suede gloves should be well rubbed with fuller’s earth; if the gloves are light or white, dry pipe clay may be used. The best method is to put the gloves on and rub the hands together. Chamois leather gloves should be soaked in warm, soapy water, and then pressed and squeezed until the dirt is removed. They should never be wrung out. n
