WAITOA EVENING.

ANQLIOAN OHURCH FUNCTION. A most successful card and old-time dance evening was held in the Waltoa Hall, recently promoted by the Waltoa Anglican Church ladies. There was a large attendance and a very enjoyable time was spent by everyMuslc was played by Messrs H. Lucking (accordion), and J. Knyvett (piano), and novelty waltzes were won by Miss 0. Luxton and Mr 0. Gavlard, and Miss M. Curtain and Mr R. J. O’Callaghan. The successful players in the progressive 500 tournament were Mrs W. Graig and Mr R. A. Best, while the winner of a hidden number competition was Mrs W. Hayes. Much credit is due to the ladles’ commit tee for the * excellent way In which these functions in aid of church funds are controlled. Supper was served at the conclusion of tlie card tournament. Mr J. ir. Marsden had charge of flic dance floor, and Mr G. Forbes controlled the card room.
