FACTORY COSTS.

INOREABE IN WAIKATO. SMALLER THAN ANTICIPATED. The reason why the increase in factory costs to Waikato dairy companies last season had not been as substantial as was generally anticipated was due to the fact that much of the necessary material had been indented beforehand and thus escaped the burden of increased costs, said Mr J. E. Leeson, chairman of directors of the Morrlnsvllle Co-operative Dairy Company yesterday. However, this coming season could be expected to reveal the true position, and the disclosure of factory costs at the end of the season would more correctly show to what extent companies had been affected by the Government’s legislation, said Mr Leeson. Increased costs would probably be mainly brought about by the price of butterboxes, factory wages and hours.
