(Received July 16, 3.15 p.m.) SUNDERLAND, July 15. The weather was dull for the concluding day of the match between New Zealand and Durham at Sunderland today. The game ended in a draw. After scoring 330 their first innings, the visitors made 159 for six wickets (dec.) to which the county replied with 270 and 100 for four wickets, when stumps were drawn. The attendance was 2000. Durham compiled a good first innings score. Townsend, the former Oxford Blue, who has toured Egypt and India with English teams played a really fine innings passing the century mark unbeaten. His score included twentyone fours, and one six. New Zealand lost five wickets for forty-one runs, mainly owing to the fine left-hand fast bowling of Herbert, of Durham University. Lowry and Donnelly recovered the position with a bright sound partnership which realised ninety. Their declaration left 4 he county an hour and a-half to bat. Roberts Available.
