MOTORIST IMPRISONED. FIVE YEARS’ DRIVING BAN. (liy Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. For failing to stop after an accident, William Henry Tyler (25) was sentenced to one month’s gaol and prohibited from driving for five years bv Mr Justice Northoroft in the Supreme Court this morning. “ This case ,las caused a good deal of distress to me, for, like most offenders for this class of offence, your intent was not criminally vicious,” said the judge. ‘‘ A deterrent is needed.
