Australia won the Kolapore Cup with 367 at 600 yards and an aggregate of 1121. Guernsey had,a score of 1114, Canada 1110, Mother Country 1108, India 1095, Jersey 1076. Immediately the Australian win was announced the captain, Merrett, was overwhelmed with congratulations by the other team captains and many prominent shooting officials, including the septuagenarian, Lord Cottesloe, president of the National Rifle Association, who is still competing at Bisley. Merrett, interviewed by the Australian Associated Press, said he hoped the team's success would, influence the Commonwealth to remember its promise that a team should visit Bisley every four years. Surely if the isolated Falkland Islands could send a team regularly it showed the importance of Bisley to rifle shooting in the outposts of the Empire. Oxford Beats Cambridge. Among the competitors was Woods, who coached the Oxford University eight which beat Cambridge under Kolapore Cup conditions, Oxford scoring i 107. Woods to-day scored 47—47—45. raonniana competition. The Australian, P. M. Gillies, won the Northland competition with a total of 83.
