TE AWAMUTU FUNCTION.

CORONATION MILITARY BALL. HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL EVENINGThe annual Territorials’ Military Ball was held in the Te Awamutu Town Hall on Wednesday evening and was a most successful function and very largely attended. The hall had been effectively and appropriately decorated with red, white and blue streamers and bunting. Overhead a large Union Jack had been placed, while streamers hung from the flag to the outer walls. The supper room decorative arrangements which were in the hands of Miss Mavis Macky, were very charming and had been carried out in Iceland poppies, violets and spring bulbs. Black’s Orchestra played excellent music. During the evening an exhibition dance by Miss Blake and partner, of Hamilton, was warmly applauded, as was also a tap dance by Miss Blake. Miss Creina McGovern and partner and Miss Jean Heron and partner were the winners of two novelty dances. The hostess, Mrs Dittmer, of Hamilton, received the guests wearing a frock of pink floral georgette. Among the many present were:— Mesdames K. Hiskens, wearing wine georgette; L.
