COUNTRY STOCK SALES. RATEB AT TE AWAMUTU. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their usual Te Awamutu stock sale yesterday, when a small entry of fat steers came forward, quotations showing no alteration, Fat cows and heifers were penned in full numbers, including a good proportion of finished icattle, for which competition was good. Second quality was also in demand, with boners showing no change. Storo cattle included the advertised steers, which were keenly sought, despite their low condition. Jersey heifers also sold well. Wether mutton was in full supply, with prices showing no variation. Lambs were yarded in full numbers, with a good proportion of unfinished sorts. Prime quality was firm, with other sorts a shade easier There was a full yarding of dairy cattle with competition for early calvers showing quality. Values were firm at late rates. Backward cattle, although not so keenly sought, also sold on a par with late quotations, and practically a total clearance resulted. The yarding of pigs was medium comprising mostly store pigs. Ewe hoggets sold to .Vis and small-mouth Romney cross ewes to 33s fid. Fat Sheep.—Another keen sale. Wethers tinned 2s and ewes Is 6d for the best, and about half as much for medium.
