FARMERS’ UNION POLICY. DETERIORATED LANDS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Farmers’ Union conference passed the following motion at its sitting to-day:—“That the Farmers’ Union protests against any Interference with tho right of private‘truck owners to carry their own goods.” A remit from Auckland affirming the principle that, tho administration of funds for reading purposes should remain under tho control of the local representative bodies was adopted, and a remit from North Canterbury asking for the abolition of heavy traffic fees on farmers* trucks was carried.
