SOVIET FLIERSNEW YORK, July 14. Corrected time for the Soviet airmen’s flight shows that they covered 6668 miles in 62 hours 17 minutes. The report that there was a leakage in their petrol line is incorrect. The airmen estimate that they got as far south as San Diego but were forced to return owing to fog. The petrol line was dented in landing on bumpy pastures. Gromov said they encountered three cyclones en route. They were compelled to use oxygen tanks for 26 hours, due to high altitudes. The single motor functioned perfectly. GUARANTEED PRICE. COMMITTEE STILL SITTING. ' WELLINGTON, Thursday. The committee appointed by the Government to recommend the guaranteed prices for dairy produce during the coming season sat yesterday and to-day and it is understood that they expect to finalise recommendations at this meeting. TOTAL OF £86,203. MEMORIAL FUND FIGURES. OSTIMATE EXCEEDED BY £36,000. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The final figures for the King George V. Memorial Fuiid will be approximately £86,203, exceeding the original aim by £36,000. To this will be added the Government’s subsidy.
