CALF CLUB

MEETING AT TE AROHA. PAST YEAR REVIEWED. Mr F. Hayward presided at the annual meeting: of the Thames Valley Calf Club. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £lO 15s. The president stated he considered the past year’s operations were very successful. The number of calves Judged was 114, entries being received from ten ■chools. A very even type or calf had been exhibited, and the classes at the show reflected great credit upon all concerned. Thanks were especially due to Mr G. W. Wild Tor his active work and interest, which had continued the same |s in past years, and to the secretary, Mr H. 0. Cooper, Jnr., Tor his attention to the clerical and organising work. The election of ofllcers resulted as follows:—President, Mr N. M. Colson; vicepresidents, Messrs W. T. Dale and J. M. Hair; club organiser, Mr G. W. Wild; ■chool organisers, Messrs H. Ward ana W. A. Clark (Te Aroha), J. Waugh and K. Snowdon (Te Aroha West), Weston Hughes and W. T. Wright (Manawaru), H. Seales and J. L'dy (Gordon), Caseldine and Greenslade (Hunga-Hunga), P. W. Davies and Greenville (.Ngarua), W. Craig and R. Colson (Waltoa), Nicholson and P. Kelghtley (Springdale). A. T. Nicol and G. W. Wild (Elstow), J. M. Hair anil A. Glllan (Waihou). D. Shine (St. Josephs). The competition dates were fixed for July 20 and August 25. It was decided to permit all breeds of calves to compete at t'he competitions, and to make no Charge for entry.
