TRIBUTE TO BENEFACTORS.
j BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY OFFICERS. j ELECTION OF TWO LIFE MEMBERS. 1 At the annual meeting of the Hamilton Beautifying Society last evening, Mr W. H. Paul was unaniI mously re-elected chairman. In nomij nating Mr Paul for a further term, Dr. H. Douglas paid a tribute to the chairman's excellent work for the j society. Mr Paul intimated that the i coming year would he his last as j chairman, hut before he resigned he would like to see every tree in the Soldiers’ Memorial Park hearing a i name plate. j In recognition of excellent services j to the society Mr A. E. Manning and jMr N. Ratcliffe were unanimously j elected life members. In nominatI ing Mr Manning for life-membership, j Mr Paul said that .Mr Manning, when I Mayor of Hamilton, had been inj strumental in the formation of the society and was, indeed, the father of the body. I The officers of the society for the (year were elected as follows: | President, Mr W. H. Paul; viceJ presidents. Dr. Douglas and Mr Pountney; committee, Messrs J. R. Fow, H. M. Hammond. F. W.
