FAREWELL SOCIAL EVENING
TO MISS P. HUNTER. On the occasion of her departure from Glen Afton, where for the past eight, years she has been on the office staff of the Glen Afton Collieries Ltd., Miss Dorothy Hunter was the guest of the residents of Glen Afton at a social evening held in the Glen Afton Hall recently. A large number, including residents from Glen Afton and surrounding districts, and visitors from Hamilton and Huntly, was present. Mr D. W. Thomas, who presided, on behalf of her many friends, presented Miss Hunter with a silver tea service, silver cake dish and a case of cake forks. Mr P. Hunter, on behalf of his daughter, thanked all present for a very pleasant evening and their very handsome gifts. Excellent, music was played by Peden's orchestra, of Huntly. and several musical items were enjoyed between dances. A most enjoyable evening was spent by all. Miss Hunter also received a leather suitcase and a travelling rug from the staff of the Collieries.
