VARIATION OF PAYf^ENT. PETITION TO PARLIAMENT. Notice is given in the current issue of the New Zealand Gazette that the Bishop and Standing Committee of the Diocese of Waikato intend to present a petition to Parliament at the ensuing session for leave to introduce a private Bill entitled The Hamilton Parsonage Site Act, 1937. The objects of the Bill are to amehd the existing Hamilton Parsonage Site Act, 1904, so that after January 1, 1947, any money remaining out of the rents received from Allotment 50, Hamilton West, shall, after payment of the annual sum of £6OO toward the stipend of the Bishop of Waikato or toward the provision an.d maintenance of a See house at Hamilton, be paid as to two-thirds thereof to the Cathedral Chapter of St. Peter and the remainder to the Vestry of St. George's Church, Frankton. Under the present Act, money remaining after the payment of the £6OO mentioned is applied in such manner as the Diocesan Synod may determine.
