THIEVES’ POOR REWARD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) •CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Systematically ransacking shops in the suburbs last night, thieves left a trail of broken locks and smashed windows. The stock In many of the shops was strewn in confusion on floors. Desks were forced open and papers thrown about. The thieves were ill-rewarded, l talnV.l 7liev se'.'uiv.! only two shillings . ivorth of pennies.
