LIDDY—CROMPTON. The marriage was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, on May 1, between Dudley Vernon, second son of Mrs E. Llddy, of Claudelands, and Hilda Alison, younger daughter of Mrs A. L. Crompton of Frankton. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert officiated. The bride, who entered tihe church with her brother, Mr Sydney Crompton, looked charming in a beautiful trained gown of ivory embossed Facconne Pon, fashioned with cowl neck and sleeves and high pointed waistline. A spray of orange blossom was worn across the neckline, and she wore an embroidered tulle veil falling from a halo of orange blossom. She oarried a sheaf of rosebuds, nasturtiums, chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern.

The marriage was solemnised on the morning of May 8, at St. George’s Church, Frankton, between Eva Myrtle, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Bowler, of Peacocke Road, Hamilton, and David Baden, second son of the late Mr and Mrs C. Powell. The Rev. R. J. Boyt officiated and Mr K. Alp presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a slim-fitting frock of slipper satin. The bodice was fashioned with a yoke of Valenciennes lace, finished with a spray of orange blossoms and full bishop sleeves. The back of the bodice wfts finished with tiny satin buttons. The tight-fitting skirt, finished with a ruched panel in front, fell to a graceful train which was practically duplicated by a beautifully embroidered veil held in place by a halo of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of cactus dahlias, white roses and maidenhair fern.

The bridesmaid was Miss Jean Williams, who wore a close-fitting frock of Buckingham lilac satin with a high neck line, finished with a violet gardenia, and leg-o’-mutton sleeves. A belt of parma violet encircled the waistline and the tight skirt fell fully from the knees. She wore a violet and silver halo and carried a bouquet of gladioli and dahlias to tone.
