SUM OF £300,000 MENTIONED. ‘, The London correspondent of a Chicago (United States) paper writes: The creation of a £300,000 trust fund for.the Duke of \Vindsor is being considered by members of the Royal Family. ‘ The Prime Minister. Mr Stanley Baldwin, according to a report in political circles, has been told informally that opposition was disclosed in a canvass of parliamentary leaders on a proposal to include the abdicated monarch in the Royal pay roll with a grant of £25,000 annually. Ii: was said Mr Baldwin was informed that the proposal should be dropped. Suggest. Family Raise Fund. The trust fund, it is suggested, would he created privately by the Royal Family in the interests of the Duke or his-widow, should he marry and predeccase her, and any children of such a marriage. Meanwhile the view is gaining ground that the select committee. which will be appointed to fix details of the Royal incomes, should also consider the transfer of revenues derived from the Duchy or Cornwall to the national Treasury in return for a ilxecl annual sum to be paid to King George \'l. by the Government. Urge Fixed Grant. It is felt in some quarters to be un—desirable that there should be any risk that the King‘s private property will become involved in controversial political issues. The Duchy at present returns about £119,000 annually, but the revenue tends to fluctuate. it is suggested that the Government make a fixed grant or £iio.ooo annually ii‘ Kin: license \'l. consents lo surrender control. —.__.___
