The coursa proper, which provided excellent going, was available next the rails for horses engaged at the Te Aroha fixture and the llags were 35 feet out for all others. There was not much, doing. On the rails the two-year-old Huntingmore was sent over half-a-mile and worked attractively to take 49 3-5. Barracade. over a similar distance, was timed to occupy 5 4§s. Kilsona opened proceedings by covering six rurlongs easily in 1.26 4-5.
