CONCILIATION PROCEEDINGS. 40 HOUR WEEK AGREEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The dispute of the Wanganui chemical fertiliser workers is subject to conciliation proceedings to-day. Tfie representatives concerned represent also New Plymouth and Canterbury, making three separate councils. A 40-hour week on five days is asked for by the employees and wages at 3s an hour with an extra 3d an hour for certain specified work. The employers are agreeable to 40-hour week with variations in the spread, including Saturday, and wages ranging from 2s o|d to 2s 2id with 3d an hour extra for workers discharging sulphur.
