AID TO SUFFERERS. MEDICAL UNIT APPEAL. A SATISFACTORY RESPONSE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Tuesday. A total of over £2OO in cash and donations in kind has been raised in Auckland and province during the past few weeks to aid sufferers in Spain. Of this over £IOO represents blankets and clothing for children lo he distributed to the Red Cross and shipped from Auckland immediately. The remaining £IOO represents Auckland's contribution towards the New Zealand medical unit including an ambulance, doctor and four attendants to be sent to Spain. The effort is being continued by active organisers and local bodies are being asked to make donations and to authorise street collections. The Auckland organisers are well safisfled with the public response. No limit is set to the ambulance effort as there will be a continuing liability when the unit arrives in the Held.
