A message from Rome says an official communique stales that after a distribution of gifts to churches and mosques in Addis Ababa a section of the crowd threw several hand grenades at the Italian leaders.

The Viceroy, Marshal Graziani, was seriously wounded in one hand, and General Liotta was gravely wounded in the abdomen and one leg.

Several others were hurt including the native bishop of the Coptic Church, Bishop Ciroillo.

It is believed that the natives who were rounded-up after the affair will be given a spectacular trial to impress the Abvssinians and that those found guilty will be shot.

A censorship ' has banned news from Addis Ababa, thus further details about the outrage are lacking. It is believed that the grenades were home-made. Italians are perturbed by the news as they are continually told that Abyssinia welcomed Italian rule. The Rome correspondent of the British United Press says an eminent surgeon has gone to Addis Ababa by air. Tel. Copyright SHANGHAI, Feb. 20. Because a Soviet film depicting incidents in the Abyssinian war was shown at a cinema in Shanghai, 10 Italian sailors fired revolvers and raided the projecting room. They broke the apparatus and thrashed two Russian operators, who were sent to hospital.
