FROZEN AND CHILLED. EASE IN PRICES FOR LAMBS. LATEST SMITHFIELD QUOTATIONS WELLINGTON, Monday. Heavier New Zealand arrivals have l rased prices for lambs on the Smithi field market, according to the weekly j report of the New Zealand Meat Pro • dimers’ Board. In the mutton market wethers are firm and there is a good demand. Ewe prices have advanced slightly because of lower spot stocks. The market for frozen beef is a little, better through lighter supplies being in sight, but chilled beef prices are weaker owing to a slackening in the demand. Prices for New Zealand baconer pigs are lower and trade is slow because of lower rates for Continental bacon. Trade is also slow for New Zealand porker pigs and prices are easier*. Following are the latest quotations announced by the board, together with , the values ruling at the close of the! previous week given in parenthesis:— Frozen Mutton.
