STOCK EXCHANGE.

THE LONDON MARKETB. EFFECT OF SPANISH WAR. A DICTATORSHIP EXPECTED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. Received Sept. 6, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 5. An interesting example of how the city regards the Spanish situation was provided in the behaviour of Spanish four per cent bonds, which rose sharply on the fall of I run, the operators apparently regarding this as a bull point for investors. The Daily Chronicle, expressing the view that a dictatorship of some form is now inevitable in Spain, says that those having financial interests there prefer a dictatorship of ihe right, but adds a warning that such a dictatorship may adversely affect British interests in the Mediterranean. The international situation, however, tended to be ignored by investors this week. Even tlio grave reports from Palestine did not affect the firmness of gilt-edged securities, the city taking the view that the Government has Hie situation well in hand. Industrialisls generally were firm. The holiday influence was felt to Hie full in the commodity markets. THE AUCKLAND MARKET. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Monday.
