SEVENTH ANNUAL BALL.

I ———-.———— ‘ CAMBRIDGE POLO OLUB. l A BRILLIANT FUNCTION. The seventh annual hall of the Cambridge Polo Clllil. held last even—ing in the Cambridge Town Hall. was an outstanding function and attracted an exceedingly large attendance, visit—ors beingr present from near and far afield. The evening was a particu—larly bright one and went with a swing from the commencement, and the function was in all ways a very much enjoyed and highly successful one. The hall had been transformed and presented a gay and wholly delightful scene. with goal posts at either end twined alternately with blue and white streamers, the ‘colours of the Club. Overhead a canopy of blue and white streamers and mum-coloured lights swayed, meeting at a huge centre chi-_fln'r of multi—ooloured balloons. Masses of greenery were arranger] about the stage, the orchestral stand being decorated in blue and white with a silver semi—circle on the stage fin—ished with pink camellias. The supper room had been most artistically arranged with a profusion of beautiful flowers. Effective fanslmped motifs in green and gold were arranged about the walls, and graceful punga frondSl land streamers in green and gold hung ' in a dome overhead. The tables look— i led very lovely with howls of Iceland . poppies, mimosa. camellins. heather.l spring bulbs, anemones and fern, with i howls of violets. and blue candles‘ in gold candiestioks. The floral ar ransements were in the hands of Mrs E. R. Lee and Mrs A. R. Batchelor. ' Excellent music was played by 'Epi shalfoon's Auckland Band. and novelty dances added greatly to the gaiety of the evening. A delicious supper was served by the ladies of the committee. . A warm tribute is due to the members of the committee who had work—ed so untiringly and to whom was due in'such a large measure the undoubted success of the function. The president of the Club.
